Oh wow. Ever heard of a thing called 'Micro-Management'?
Almost everything I was going to say has been stated by Missing HB and Thevil King so I'll quote them for emphasis:

For example, a hero gets body blocked by a player. The AI would not know how to maneuver itself out of a bodyblock, therefore, bodyblocking a hero can be considered an 'exploit' and them not moving out of it can be 'predictable'. However, anyone with decent microing skill will move his hero out of that position via flags. This is what separates the skilled HB players from the non-skilled HB players.

Bottom line is: Heroes will never be predictable as long as we can micro them.

Lol. Realized I never signed on this thread
/signed for a carefully created poll

Yeah i remember that new players always cried about AI even when they played one monk three packers. I LOL'd and killed them.

HB was all about microing skills. If you missed that you never played enough or you were that monk.

If you never had the chance to play HB or would like to play HB that is too bad. All i can say is sign this thread asking for a poll from the active GW community about their feelings about HB.

Actually, a questionaire would be a much better way to see what the community thinks.

Get them to answer questions regarding HB such as:
What they think was the reason for removal
What did they hate most in HB
What did they like most in HB
Choose between HB + TA or CA
Did they play hb, how knowledgeable are they in HB
And so forth

This would be a much better way to gather feedback since it will give Anet evidence whether the people who said NO really understand the format or if they actually had a decent argument that lead them to say NO and that goes for the people who said YES too but to a lesser extent.

What do you guys think?

Well actually , such a questionnaire is too centered around HB , and just adding HB back would be faster imo...I mean , looking at recent updates( henchmen contest , contestable skil updates) and future ones ( dervish /paragon unfortunately..), they probably won't care on answers..

Actually , adding the first poll suggested would be good idea , thus they would get an idea of what people prefer among Ta+ Hb and CA. Otherwise, if that isn't done and they stick to useless dervish update and following , getting an answer about codex would be nice...

Asking questions like you suggest would be presuming that the people answering them will be honest. I hate to sound cynical but I know that some people that were R2 commander will think and say they were pro HB players. It would also open doors to a lot of unneeded personal drama and personal emotions.

This thread basically outlined what was wrong with HB and what was right with HB. Having a simple YES/NO poll would be a sufficient "FIRST" step on the overall issue concerning HB and the community's feelings towards it.

Yea, I suppose you're right.

Only thing I'm worried about with a poll is that too many people who don't care at all about HB and TA (ie pve'ers in general) would vote no since they would rather Anet give them more content.

Let the chips fall where they may. I think a arena other than codex would be considered better than another war in kryta that was featured exclusively for the pve players. Whom btw, complained frequently on here about the WIK.

Anyway , i am almost sure than in 2 weeks , they will come with the dervish update , it will be a huge fail ( since everyone knows it won't change anything in pve , so in pvp ... discuss). They probably already know what update they're going to make , and since they're working on gw2 for long time now , i think they aren't even caring on ideas suggested ...

However , on a side note , we're getting close to haloween and it would be nice if costume brawl lasted more than 5 days for once ( since we're getting dball, snowball and other crap usully2/3 weeks per year )...

Saying that you dont want Anet to bring back HB because it would take up time that could be spent on something else is perfectly legit reasoning, and is used quite often in many of the threads in sardelac to /notsign a suggestion.

The problem comes with people who /notsign based on their preconceived notion of HB as a place where everyone went to manip for free zkeys and title points, instead of an actual format with fixable issues.

That's exactly the problem , very well said. Many people who didn't play HB just read forums and heard of it on last days because of massive RR , thus they consider this arena just as a farming arena.

On a side note : when is next serious pvp update supposed to come ?

While i wont deny that this is a problem, it isn't exactly what I was referring to, nor is it what was being discussed in Elnino's post that I quoted. Elnino said that saying no to bringing back HB because a PvEer wants more content could inaccurately skew the poll, and I was replying that there is nothing wrong with voting no to one form of added/restored content if you would rather the developers work on another form of content.

Anyway, what good would a poll be if Anet has already taken a hardline stance that they are not bringing back HB? A poll wouldn't really accomplish anything.

I apologize for the confusion. I realized that I forgot to add one more bit to my post, but after seeing lemming say what I was going to say, I decided not to edit my post.

So , is all this even going to lead to something? final sentence to just say " NO" ( although it would be nice to have a valid reason on keeping codex) ?
Aswell , is there even going to be an update concerning dervish ?

No, its not going to lead to anything. Thats what I tried to explain earlier. Anet isn't going to reinstitute HB. End of Story. They have made that abundantly clear to us.

It seems that everything that needed to be said about this has been said, and that there has been ample time for people to weigh in on this. Since I don't feel that there is much more to discuss in length here, and to avoid having this thread spin off onto some other tangent, I will go ahead and let this thread be

Closed.
